Parents can claim back a portion of Donation payments made:

The majority of donations are Charge Adjustments which are added to the children's enrolments. When payments are uploaded via Xero, the payment comes through and is added to the Account as Bank Deposits. The payment is not separated between a Bank Deposit and a Donation, so when producing a Tax Receipt the Donation amount reported isn't what is expected.

Investigate receipting options, as the donations field on the 'Make Payment' screen is for “Voluntary Donations”. Whilst the charge adjustment donations added on the enrolments are more “Compulsory Donations”, so if they don’t pay the donations that are part of the enrolment using the normal payment process then the account will look like the parent owes money.
