Start and leave dates for staff and children

Hi - this was raised originally under ticket 45571 last year. We need Discover to show the changes in start/leave dates like in the old APT screenshot attached (Educator or child first joined 2017, left 2019, but returned in 2020). Discover shows this just as a start date of 2020. Or if a child or Educator moves networks/"centre", Discover only shows the start date for that centre, not their actual relationship with the service. Your initial feedback was that this is tracked in the audit log but we need to be able to see this in a report of all children, or all Educators, so we can for example personalise communication for length of time with us.

Discover - this relates to a request we’ve been making for a couple of years. We need fields for both the Educator (staff) and child sides that shows start and leave date history (if you look at our start and leave date request there’s a a snip for how APT did it.

Hi - has there been any further work on this? It is becoming increasingly frustrating to not have this feature - we are required to show this on eg safety check reports and qualification checks for MoE, so are doing it manually. But having it in Discover, easily visible and reportable would be so much better!

Hi, can you please confirm if this will still be looked at? I received this reply a month ago on the ticket we raised two years ago, and the ticket was closed by Discover after this reply.
Please note, we do a full re-enrolment when a child returns (with the new enrolment form etc), and in Discover a new "enrolment" is set up in the enrolments tab, which shows when they were enrolled and not.
But what we would like is an easy way to see their history on the child details screen - and in Excel when we pull this information for reporting. Currently we find the child's old record and remove the leave date, but this then pulls through to Excel with the original start date, not the current one.

We have had feedback from the MOE and the re-enrolment date should be the date it is showing. I have copied their response for you below. There has been a request raised on Canny to show the extra date.
The re-enrolment date should be the new start date.
In effect, this should be treated as a new enrolment, so the enrolment form should be completed again to ensure details (addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, health information, permissions etc) have been reviewed and (where required) updated by the parent/caregiver.
Regarding the audit log, it is functioning as expected. The audit log is not meant to track every change on Discover. There are so many changes on a daily basis that the files would be too large to accomodate.
