Melissa - Discover Support
At Discover, we received a request on the Toggle Ratio Widget to highlight in red the period wherein they are not meeting the required number of registered staff.
We'd like to open this up for your valuable insight. Please leave your comments and upvote if this would be an important feature for you. Top feature requests (based upon number of votes) will be reviewed by the Discover Team each quarter as we aim to prioritise your requests into our annual roadmap.

The change made earlier in the year has been reverted, and an additional line in the top left percentage ratio indicates the "employed" staff ratio for that day.

Hi! Thank-you Katharine - you have explained the problem perfectly. I totally agree. We'll however see how it goes without having that function as I also found that function to be a very valuable tool.

Kia ora,
We have noticed that on the toggle ratio widget, the display area "ECE Qualified" has changed to show the total certified available teachers rather than the certified teachers actually in ratio. I understand that this is a Ministry of Education requirement, but it makes the toggle defunct. A significant value of the toggle as it was, was that you could easily see the number of certified teachers in ratio by the number and it was invaluable to see when it was flagged in red. The change also means it is not easy to see where discretionary hours are needed.
It is very disappointing that this function has been removed. Teachers are already pressed for time, already spend long periods of time making sure rosters are accurate, and are struggling to find enough certified teachers. This toggle, that was great and was one of the reasons we use Discover, is no longer functional, and has the potential to make our records inaccurate. As you know, teachers do not have the time to trawl through the scale option or other reports to see where a teachers is needed.
We would like to see the toggle reinstated immediately to what it was, and if the MOE require the information to show the total number of teachers, then perhaps this could be an additional line.
Thank you
